What is a Nutritional Therapist (also known as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner)?

I am a qualified and insured Nutritionist and a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT)[1], and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)[2].

Roveena Gata Aura

As a Nutritional Therapist, my role is not to diagnose or treat diseases or medical conditions, although I often work alongside medical and other healthcare professionals in order to fully support my clients. My role is to work with you to identify the root cause of your health concerns and symptoms, and understand how potential nutritional imbalances or lifestyle issues may be contributing to your overall health and well-being, and how we can work together to ultimately transform your overall quality of life.

    How does Nutritional Therapy work?

Nutritional Therapy is defined by BANT as the ‘application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care’ (BANT, 2022).

Our bodies are complex and everything in our body is interconnected. Using a personalised integrative functional medicine approach, your nutritional and lifestyle needs are tailored by taking into account genetic, biochemical and lifestyle factors, your health history, and your dietary preferences, in order to develop a suitable nutrition and lifestyle strategy that works for you, in order to meet your health goals.

I offer nutrition plans; functional, diagnostic and nutrigenomic testing; as well as personalised supplementation (where applicable), to support the recommendations based on your individual needs.

Identifying the right solutions unique to you are key to optimising your health, and improving your quality of life, so that you can feel your ultimate best!
